Founding Story

Innergy was founded out of a passion for creating sustainably high-performing and generative businesses driven to achieve goals while living up to cultural values along the path to realizing a worthwhile vision and purpose. These businesses purposefully shape and develop a leadership culture that motivates continuous growth into higher levels of values-based leadership and performance as a cultural way of life.

Mary Beth has dedicated her 38-year career to researching and applying generative business approaches. She studied a broad array of business and leadership models while working on her Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Regent University. She was fortunate to have a special teacher during her master’s study – Jay Gary.  Jay Gary introduced Mary Beth to the stakeholder model for business along with theories of human development including the work of philosopher Ken Wilber, Spiral Dynamics, Robert Kegan, and the field of future studies. Mary Beth's master's culmination project drew from these scholars along with the wisdom traditions. Her culmination paper was titled, Creating Sustainable Life-Giving Organizations.

 

Mary Beth applied generative business principles to a number of executive-level roles during her 28-year career with a large privately-held marketing services company. Mary Beth's executive experience includes serving as Vice President of Marketing and Strategy, Vice President of Organization and People Potential responsible for organization and leadership development, and Vice President/Executive Director of a R&D Institute focused on unleashing human potential through the design of people-centered business practices. In this role, Mary Beth drove an innovative approach to experience design by bringing together two leading fields, the neuroscience of human behavior together with the field of design thinking.

In 2015, Mary Beth decided to change gears from being a corporate executive to being a fractional Strategy, Leadership & Culture Officer focused on partnering with executives committed to taking their business to the highest levels of performance and trust through generative business principles put into practice through a culture of leaders at every level of the organization.
